York FA Minor League U13 - Division 1. Pocklington Town U13 2 - 5 THORPE UNITED U13 An excellent second half performance saw Thorpe Utd secure a win against Pocklington Town and maintain their position at the top of Division 1. Thorpe started the brighter of the two sides and quickly had the Pocklington defence under pressure. Adam Forster and C-Jay Barraclough dictated play in the centre midfield and with Jordan Smith and Harry Brigham raiding down the wings Thorpe were soon ahead. A neat lay-off by Tom Connell found Brigham at the edge of the box and his well placed shot hit the roof of the net. The potential danger from the Pocklington strikers was eliminated by solid tackling from George Welburn and Jack Sheldon. Thorpe’s second came when Dan Marran raced clear of the defence and rounded the keeper to slide the ball home. After the second goal Thorpe sat back and Pocklington took their chance to get in to the game. Poor defending left Thorpe keeper James Fenn helpless as Pocklington scored their first. Then Pocklington equalised with a breakaway from a Thorpe corner. With Pocklington driving forward Thorpe were relieved to hear the halftime whistle. Thorpe reorganised for the second half bringing on Matty Royle who made and immediate impact by scoring Thorpe’s third. A well taken corner from Brigham was headed home by Royle at the back post. Thorpe now dominated the play and Charlie “Dude” Swain had what looked like a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside. Swain’s persistence eventually paid off when he powered past a couple of defenders to fire home Thorpe’s fourth. Thorpe’s well organised defence marshalled by Jake Pugh kept Pocklington hemmed in for virtually the entire second half. Man of the Match Tom Connell rounded off a good performance when he smashed in goal number five.

York FA Minor League U13 - Division 1. THORPE UNITED U13 3 - 1 Easingwold Town U13 Thorpe United moved in to top spot in the York Minor League Division 1 after a determined performance saw them beat Easingwold Town at home. Despite playing in to a strong wind Thorpe dominated the possession in the first half and were soon testing the Easingwold keeper with shots from Dan Marran and Matty Royle. An injury to Jake Jarvis saw substitute Matty Smith brought on early in the game and he was immediately involved in the action. Skipper Adam Forster and Jake Pugh dictated play in the centre of midfield and continually created chances for the Thorpe strikers. It seemed just a matter of time before Thorpe would take the lead and the opportunity came when the energetic Forster was brought down in the area but Charlie “Dude” Swain’s penalty was well saved by the Easingwold keeper. Not to be denied Man of the Match Forster opened the scoring a few minutes later when he pounced on a loose ball and smashed it home after good work from Marran. The Thorpe defence well marshalled by Jordan Smith kept Easingwold to just a few long range efforts that keeper James Fenn dealt with comfortably. After the goal Thorpe continued to pile on the pressure but were unable to add to their tally before half time. In the second half Easingwold started the better of the two sides and threatened the Thorpe goal on several occasions early on but solid tackling from George Welburn and Jack Rowbottom kept the visitors at bay. Thorpe soon got back into their stride and strikers Swain and Marran both had chances to increase the lead. Eventually, after good work again by Marran, an excellent pass by Forster split the defence and Harry Brigham drove his shot low in to the goal for Thorpe’s second. Midway through the half a tired Pugh was replaced by Jack Sheldon who played well in the closing stages of the game. Forster completed an outstanding individual performance with a looping shot over the keeper for his second and Thorpe’s third. With virtually the last kick of the match the visitors scored a deserved consolation goal making the final score 3-1 to Thorpe United.
York FA Minor League U13 - Division 1. North Duffield U13 0 - 11 THORPE UNITED U13 Hat-tricks from strikers Dan Marran and Charlie “Dude” Swain helped Thorpe United secure a comfortable win over local rivals North Duffield. Thorpe started the game slowly and the first real chance fell to Duffield but an excellent shot was matched by a great save from Thorpe keeper James Fenn. Within minutes Thorpe were awarded a penalty for a trip on Marran and Swain successfully stepped up to open the scoring. Moments later an excellent corner by Adam Forster was met by the head of Marran to make it 2-0. Goal number three followed when Man of the Match Matty Royle volleyed in a shot from the edge of the area. Another well taken corner from Forster came out to George Welburn who crashed his shot in to the back of the net for Thorpe’s fourth. A good passing move started by Jake Pugh released Jack Sheldon on the right and his well placed shot was parried by the Duffield keeper but Marran followed in to score goal five. Marran completed his hat-trick just before halftime with a neat chip over the advancing keeper. In the second half Thorpe were completely dominant and even defenders Tom Connell, Matty Smith and Jack Rowbottom had chances to score. Thorpe’s seventh and eighth goals were scored by substitutes Harry Brigham and C-jay Barraclough. Brigham’s was a well angled shot and Barraclough’s a penalty for handball. Thorpe’s ninth goal was claimed by Barraclough who shot through a crowd of players to score. Good work by Jordan Smith set up Swain for number ten and Swain completed his hat-trick with goal number eleven just before the end.
